So far, the Little League Baseball state minors tournament has turned into the Kailyn Barrett Show.

The Waipio pitcher won for the second time in as many days and drove in three more runs Saturday in Waimea as the Oahu powerhouse defeated Hilo 12-4.

Barrett’s two-run triple highlighted a five-run first inning, and Waipio tacked on four runs in the top of the fourth to take a commanding 9-0 lead in the double-elimination tourney for players ages 9-10.

Vincent Ogasawara also drove in three runs, roping his own two-run triple in the fifth inning while Aaron Ujimori went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and one RBI.

Barrett, who also doubled, gave up just one hit and no walks in 1 2/3 innings. She struck out four batters for a Waipio team that will face the Kaneohe Maroon at 10 a.m. today in a battle of undefeated teams.

Over two days, Barrett has six RBIs, and she hasn’t given up a run in 3 2/3 innings.

Hilo’s Ocean Gabonia, who gave up five runs on four hits in 2/3 innings, took the loss.

Big Island champion Hilo scored four runs on just one hit in the fourth inning, taking advantage of seven walks by Waipio pitchers.

Kue Martin, Paul Anthony and Kahiau Vincent each had a single for Hilo, which will play Oahu’s Aiea at 1:30 p.m. today in an elimination game.

Aiea 4, Central East Maui 1: Joseph Canosa pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings for Aiea, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out three.

Kyle Hyun and Shane Ota each went 2-for-3, while Toni Kato stroked an RBI double in Aiea’s three-run fifth inning.

Teva Pimental pitched well for Central East Maui but suffered the loss. In four innings, he allowed just one run on four hits, striking out six and walking none.

At the plate, Pimental collected two hits, while Dylan Mahuna and Kaaimoku Dukelow had doubles.

Tristan Aplanalp singled and scored Central East Maui’s lone run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, and Jarrett Harper added a single.

Senior Little League

Hilo rallied to beat Ewa 9-6 in eight innings Friday in the first round of the state Little League Seniors baseball tournament at Hans L’Orange Field on Oahu.

The four-team, double-elimination baseball tournament for players ages 15-16 runs through Tuesday. Results from Hilo’s game on Saturday were not reported by the Tribune-Herald deadline that evening.

On Friday, Chad Teshima led Hilo with three hits and Alika Guillermo and Micah Kaaukai each had two hits.

Reliever Ryan Torioka, the fourth Hilo hurler, earned the win. Kihei Serrao started and pitched three innings and he was followed on the mound by Guillermo (2 innings), Andy Filoteo (2 innings) and Torioka.
